Marina Pusateri LSW
Marina began her career as a Respiratory Therapist which gained her medical knowledge about various health conditions. She worked in small community hospitals to larger facilities which gave her further education relating to individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds. She had enjoyed working as a member of ICU teams which led into the interest of assisting individuals dealing with terminal illness and anticipatory death. Her last career was working with Home Health and Hospice patients and their families developing plans to provide comfort to patients to remain safely in their homes. This gave her the experience of working with the family systems approach which focuses on interactions between people in a family unit.
Marina has experience working with court ordered and self referred individuals for substance abuse and mental health challenges. She follows an open mind concept in meeting clients wherever they are in their personal life journey. Having been a business owner in the community since 2015 has given Marina the opportunity to provide grief support to local community members on an individual and group basis. Marina specializes in the field of grief and loss, as every individual’s paths may one day lead to loss of a loved one, job loss, loss of health, financial loss, or pet loss to name a few. She also has years of experience coaching individuals through anxiety and depression while encouraging the client to process their emotions and assisting them in development of positive coping skills.
As our challenges change from day to day, Marina believes in addressing whatever a client brings into session. Each person has their own individual goals to overcome these challenges. Marina focuses on empowerment while encouraging the individual in self-esteem building and self-confidence. She believes in the “I can and will” attitude. She encourages clients to practice self care as part of their healing process. In relationship building, she inspires individuals to identify their true authentic selves regardless of the possible influence of others. Knowing our genuine selves assists people in staying true to their beliefs and values, even when they may be under pressure to conform.
